186-198 Halsey Street
Title
186-198 Halsey Street
Description
"186-198 Halsey Street is a two story, four bay, rectangular plan, classicizing, terra cotta-clad, commercial building occupying almost an entire blockfront. The ground floor facade has been almost entirely obscured by the addition of a ceramic panel veneer. The original storefront facade, still visible on the southernmost store, originally consisted of glass showcases set on wooden bases, pressed metal fluted pilaster surrounds, and a centered door. Above a course of stylized organic reliefs, the second story consists of large fixed pane windows with transom, which are separated into four large bays by fluted terra cotta pilasters topped with stylized organic-motif capitals. The full entablature supports dentilated cornice and a balustraded parapet detailed with cartouches and urns "
