Biographical Text

Charles Edwards designed the French Renaissance and Baroque- styled St. Columba's Church with its Corinthian column semicircular portico. A landmark at Pennsylvania Avenue and Brunswick Street, it is a one-of-a-kind building and is considered most classical in its grandeur.' The building is a copy of Chapel Royal at Versailles with its curved apse, columned entrance and Italian campanile.
