Gutzon Borglum was an American sculptor. A student of the San Francisco Art Academy as well as the École des Beaux-Arts, Borglum's works include a statue of Lincoln in Newark, NJ. Borglum is probably best know for his monumental work the Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
