Condition History
The original school building was constructed in 1888 as an eight room primary school. The first addition was built in 1891, completing the originally designed, 3-story, Romanesque Revival building. Nine classrooms were added in 1903, and 15 classrooms were added in 1906. In 1915, Ernest Foss Guilbert, of Guilbert & Betelle, added 15 classrooms, a gymnasium, and an auditorium called Robert Treat Hall. This addition was built in an Adamesque style. The school was later demolished as part of a city wide school facilities management plan to revamp the school system.
