Description
The "Ideal Home" was the idea of Louis Bamberger, owner of the Newark department store. He wanted to create a home setting in which he could display the store's furniture and electrical appliances and accommodate the public. The house also had many novel electrical features including water heaters, burglar alarms, an inter-house telephone, baseboard outlets, and more.
