Subject
Description
South Park Presbyterian Church is one of the finest examples of the Greek Revival located in Lincoln Park (formerly known as South Park). The exterior of the church, reminiscent of the work of William Strickland, is composed of a tetrastyle Ionic porch bearing an unadorned pediment flanked by two corner towers. These towers are a direct reference to the " Choragic Monument of Lysicrates" located in Athens, Greece. The exterior is also notable for its Nova Scotia brownstone.

Condition History
The construction of the church was finished in 1855. In 1964, the towers lost their lantern portion. In 1992, a fire destroyed all but the front facade and towers. In 2008, the Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District, Inc. (LPCCD) began restoration work on the facade and plans to build an amphitheater where the sanctuary used to be, that can be used to host open air concerts.
